Starlooks November 2015

image

I’m slightly late getting this written. I’ve been lazy. Anyone out there enjoy Starlooks? They have some great products and some not my favorite. But for $12/month, it’s a great deal. I have repurchased some items I’ve gotten in the past.

Starlooks is a monthly subscription box. For $12 you get 3 deluxe sample size products from their line. Fun to try out some newbies.

This month is shimmering future.. included in a cute box are 3 items.

1. Golden Ticket gold liquid eyeliner. It’s gorgeous, bright and very gold. Great for a glam look.

2. Fortune 500 eyeshadow duo. Two very shimmery eye shadows…one is a gold and one camel brown.

3. Opulence lip crayon in a very dark plum. It’s almost black and not a color I can pull off. It’s a creamy , well pigmented crayon. Smells like chocolate too. But man it’s dark.

Peaches and Petals Subscription Box

IMAG3749

This subscription box is a new find for me. At $14.99 per month it’s a steal as well. I really was surprised to see the great items included for such a bargain. I received my very first box in October and this is what is featured in this review.

To begin with, my box was quite large, making it that much more exciting to unbox. I  couldn’t wait to see what goodies awaited.

Here is the box first look. Like many subscription boxes, it came all wrapped in pretty tissue paper with an information card and spoiler for next month. IMAG3752IMAG3751

So, lets dive right in. The first item and the largest is this beautiful Elizabeth Arden tote bag. The information card lists it at a $40 retail value/$10.99.  It is a large bag with a patent, water resistant finish. I love the block color combination too. Nice!

Next is this cute magnetic postcard. Anne Taintor Sassy Magnetic Postcard retail value $2.99/$2.38. Very cute retro design.IMAG3760

Finally there is a box labeled Smashbox, Barielle and Sally Hanson. Ooh what do we have in here??? Can’t wait!! IMAG3759IMAG3761

The first item I pull out is this Barielle Pro Essentials skin cream. It smells lovely and is rich and thick. A wonderful moisturizer. This is a full sized har and retail valued at $14.99/$7.71.IMAG3763

Next is this gorgeous lilac Sally Hanson nail polish. Again this is full size and beautiful. I love this pearl-esc purple. It’s lovely. Retail value $3.99/$5.78IMAG3764

Finally, my favorite item is this Smashbox Trio Eyeshadow. It’s the perfect neutral browns for everyone and every day. Very nice. Retail valued at $28/14.99.IMAG3769

Overall this box is quite nice. I have not researched all the prices to compare the listed retail value and what you might find them listed at other retailers. I will try to get that info updated as soon as possible. UPDATE: I have researched prices on Amazon and will post the Amazon price after each description above. The second value is the Amazon price……  Regardless, you get way more than your money’s worth. My calculation even at the Amazon prices is over $40.  This is a great box to get in on. I added a Big Fat Sexy Hair hairspray to my box for an additional $7. Every month they have an add on item offered at a discount if you are interested. They also have a generous reward system.

Why not try it today? I will post a link if you want to join.

I’m a Julep Maven! See October 2015 box!

I have not ever really worn much nail polish, but after getting my first Julep Maven box, I am hooked. The quality of these polishes is phenomenal. I can easily get 2 weeks out of my manicure before needing to redo. The polishes are super long wearing and provide a wonderful finish. One thing though. They take quite a while to dry and I typically use 2 coats for full coverage.

In my October box I received 2 polishes and one blush. I did not pick any of mine because I love surprises but each month from the 20th to the 24th you can pick from available selections if you wish.

My first polish is a bombshell in Laurel. This is a nice matte black with a slight shimmer. Provides great coverage and long wear.IMAG3719

The other polish is so beautiful. It’s a Wonder Maven in Sherri with a stardust finish. The color is a bright and beautiful purple with a micro-glitter. I love this one. It’s gorgeous.

Finally, I got  a Your Happy Look pore minimizing blush in rosewood. It’s beautiful and the formula is so silky soft. I adore the color and it goes on so effortlessly. Just a lovely product..IMAG3725

#5. Meet Matt(e) Hughes long lasting liquid lipstick in committed. This is from the Balm. It’s a lovely mauve color and comes much like a lip gloss with a doe foot applicator. The formula is thick and a bit sticky but very long lasting. It converts to more like a stain. Very nice. I received a .04oz sized sample. The Balm website has them listed at $17 for a .25oz size.

And finally you get an adorable zippered bag in gold on one side and black patent on the reverse. You can’t beat the deal you get for $10. You would love this if you enjoy beauty products. Great value.
